While this is not the only thing I did during the week of our National Convention, this was probably the highlight! Lots of fun, lots of people, and now I am REALLY tired.

And, it's off to Los Angeles for me now. Yes, I am missing the Annual Tulane Sorority Girls Bethany Beach Weekend to go speak to more Latinos about high school education reform...I am pumped (please hear the sarcasm).

While I have not had a day off of work in 2.5 weeks, a friend reminded me that I had 6 months of days off so I shouldn't complain. I do not like his logic at all.

So, TheDistrict has chastised me for the not so clever nature of my most recent posts. So, I apologize, it is just that these crazy Mexicans have me so busy recently that the best I can do when not at work is to consume beer, wine, and the occasional glass of fruit juice (and that is not a reference to any bizarre gay behaviors happening in mi casa).

However, in the midst of all the crazy conference planning in the office yesterday, we all took a moment to pause and thank (fill in the blank) that we were safely on the 6th floor and not attempting to either cross L street or drive down it.



Mind you, these cars were in motion when the construction site fence just tipped over. As TheDistrict is prancing around farm land this week (and we're missing him) I like to think this is an urban salute to any cow-tipping he may be participating in.

Cheap t-shirts and free FUNdraiser

We're on a roll...the 2nd Columbia Heights Day fundraiser! This one is to raise funds to acquire a petting zoo for the festival. Yes, friends, a petting zoo. Complete with a donkey, llama, and varieties of bunnies and chickens.

Thursday night, July 3rd @ Wonderland Ballroom (if you don't know where that is you are not invited)

It is a national holiday the following day, so everyone should be available to party (except possibly for me, because I work for crazy people). We will be selling t-shirts at a discounted rate (1 for $15 or 2 for $20). There will also be delicious $1 jello shots. From what I hear (or have experienced personally), they are quite delicious...and strong!

Rumor of a donkey show abounds...
