After quite a trip to Dallas where I fell off the mechanical bull within 6 seconds, drank $9 pitchers of Miller Lite at the AMF Bowling Lanes, and swam in a pool that is on the back patio of a mexican restaurant while drinking everclear margaritas...I am ready to post the Obama acceptance speech day photos!
Yay! Barack, and all the speakers who preceded him, were amazing! It was so much fun...enjoy the photos. (Oh, and p.s. I can't figure out how to slow down the slideshow before embedding it, so you gotta do that yourself).

OBAMA DAY!!
Can you tell? I'm excited. I will be leaving for the Mile High Stadium at 11:30am, because the gates open at 1pm, because the day's shedule begins at 3pm...lots o'waiting in lines and sitting around is forcasted for today. Mom and I will be bringing a book (or two) and I will be wishing that big-girl drinks were for sale.

Convention Day III
So, it was a slow at Convention Day III. Michelle spoke again, heard from Bill, and got to see my old college pal Ashley Biden (for real though, we went to college together). And then, a couple good friends and I hung out at one of the after-parties. Quite tired now, so I think I'll retire...probably best, given the festivities in store for tomorrow. Oh, and did I mention I saw Barack today? It was good seeing an old friend after so many years...
Tomorrow holds a lovely morning of breakfast with mom (homemade, of course). And then, don't say anything because it's not certain yet, but visits to Mile High Stadium to see OBAMA live for the original Chavez family (yes, I mean my mother and father...who have been lovingly divorced for 13 years). Holla!

Iris & the DNC Convention!
I was quite honored to be invited by my boss to attend the Democratic National Committee Convetion with some of my co-workers, quite a once in a life time experience. Especially when you don't actually have enough passes for everyone so your boss fabricates some at Kinkos and devices an elaborate scheme to sneak people in...turns out, it worked. This time. I have collected some photos from the last two days and would like to share them...then I have to figure out how to fix this mobile blogging thing so I don't have to do this every night (I know, there are only two more days...but big things could happen).

Someone is NOT ok
on my usual route home from work today, I come across a police blockade at 15th & Florida Ave...I then run into our good friend Officer Wilson as he is writing up an accident report for this:

The ambulance was already gone, but I cannot imagine that whomever was driving this vehicle is feeling well today. Speedy recovery!
Though, I am terribly curious to talk to Officer Wilson and get the skinny on how precisely this happened...
