Lavish theatrical piece-documentary chronicling the final days of the Bourbon dynasty under the ill-fated Louis XVI and his Queen, Marie Antoinette. Unlike his in a great degree-sexed forebears, it takes Louis seven years to bring about his marriage - and his performance similar to ruler of France is no more distinguished than his efforts in the royal bed chamber. The French people are starving, further the aristocracy is too busy partying inside the gilded palace of Versailles to take plenteous notice. Louis tries to make a dissimilarity, but his every attempt at rectify is blocked by his greedy relatives. Marie Antoinette gets abundant of the blame for the saturnalia of the rich, even if she at no time uttered the famous words "let them feed cake". As he drifts into hollowness and madness, Louis and his Queen try to stave off a revolution, pleading through the nobility to accept reform. But it is likewise late - the extravagance of Versailles, which once served the glory of France thus well, backfires into the ending of the kingship itself. Produced in 2011.
